A Somatic Movement Approach to Pilates

 

 

Bodies Mind® Studio, now located on 2nd Street (at A) in San Rafael, is a peaceful Somatic Movement Studio, specializing in our signature Pilates Practice. It is equipped with a full range of pilates apparatus, as well as an assortment of various props, to assist you in increasing body-mind awareness and new physical skill sets. The practice is dedicated to the development and enhancement of awareness, movement, exercise, and expression integration towards a healthy lifestyle. It attracts a wonderful, like-minded community of people committed to conscious body-mind balance, as well as excellence in movement/exercise education and performance.

Carole Amend is honored to be your teacher. She began practicing pilates in New York City in 1981 and began teaching as an apprentice in 1986. She has served clients from all over the Bay Area and beyond, since she moved to Marin County and opened her first studio in 1992. It is with a happy and grateful heart that Carole invites you to come and see what Pilates Practice is all about - how it supports and integrates with lifestyle habits for joyful living - in body, mind, and soul!

How do I get started?

Schedule an Introductory Session!: Please Contact Carole to make an appointment.
During our time together, you’ll learn about the Bodies Mind® approach to pilates and somatic movement practice. We will discuss an individualized program to help you meet your health goals. You'll decide whether to explore the Onsite Apparatus & Mat (Privates/Duets available at this time) or Online Sessions/Classes (Onsite coming soon!).

Once I’ve had my Introductory Session, how do I schedule sessions?

Private sessions: Contact Carole by phone, text, or email to schedule or change session appointments. Or, simply schedule your next session while at the studio.
Classes/Workshops: Online Booking coming soon - Stay tuned!

What is the recommended attire?

Bodies Mind® is a perfume-free studio. 
Please wear comfortable, workout-type wear, with no zippers, or constricting bands, etc. For example, workout wear such as leotards or sweatpants and a close-fitting t-shirt. Non-slip socks are recommended.

Session Cancellation & Fee Policy:

Payment is due prior to or at the time of session. All sales are final. 
Please allow 24 hours notice for a cancellation, otherwise, the session is forfeited.

What about COVID-19 Guidelines?

Please read the Navigating COVID entry on the Moving Through Change Blog. We follow recommended Safety Guidelines. You’ll be required to sign our COVID-19 Liability Waiver and agree to the terms to participate.
